August also begins the downhill slide into the 'off' season. Warm climate gardeners, like me, do have a second chance for an awesome Fall garden, but some folks just don't have the necessary 'second wind,' after the July summer's heat.
By all means, I encourage each of us to take some time to sit back and simply enjoy our gardens and reflect back on all the hard work we've put into making our gardens a Spring/Summer success. But keep in mind that August weather is often milder than we might expect (especially as we close in on the end of the month) and it's a great time to perk things up in the garden, after July's heat. To help we that I have prepared the August To-Do Guide. Enjoy.
