I love nothing better than reading through my catalogs and planning my new layout for the Spring gardens. I hope many of you enjoy this as much as I do!
As we turn page after catalog page, enjoying the pictures and descriptions of the new varieties and old favorites I would like to encourage you to keep Phytonutrient Gardening in mind.
The simple principle of Phytonutrient gardening is to grow the most nutritious varieties of your favorite fruits and vegetables as you possibly can. It doesn’t have to mean getting rid of any of the old tried and true varieties, it just means being sure to include the power house phytonutrient-rich, antioxidant-packed varieties in the garden too.

When planting my phytonutrient garden I will still include that Brandywine variety because it is one of my favorites but I will also plant plenty of Juliette too. In fact, has become one of my very favorite ever since I grew my first plant 2 years ago.
The Juliette is so sweet and delicious that when you snack on them sun dried it is almost like eating candy!
Enjoy your New Year celebrations and when planning next season’s garden remember to think phytonutrient smart!
Happy Gardening!!
